"Twilight" stars and former flames Kristen Stewart, 26, and Robert Pattinson, 29, had a sweet yet unexpected encounter during the Met Gala red carpet.
Pattinson took his fiancee FKA Twigs as his date during the event, while Stewart walked the red carpet solo. When the three crossed paths, onlookers were expecting everybody involved to throw icy looks at one another, but the opposite actually happened.
"[Kristen] was just overjoyed to see Rob. They both were happy to see each other. It had been such a long time. Kristen and Rob gave each other a big hug," a source told Hollywood Life. "Rob and Kristen were genuinely happy to see each other. Maybe a little too happy for Tahliah's liking."
Tahliah Debrett Barnett is the real name of Twigs, the soon-to-be Mrs. Pattinson. The source claimed that Twigs was caught off-guard by the way Pattinson reacted to his ex's appearance. However, there seemed to be no bad blood between the ladies because Stewart even gave Twigs a hug too.
Stewart and Pattinson went through a nasty split after Stewart was caught cheating with "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders back in 2012, who was then married to model Liberty Ross.
The affair wrecked the "Twilight" stars' romance and cost Stewart her role as Snow White in the franchise.
After losing Pattinson, Stewart bounced from one relationship after another and has even been linked to actors Nicholas Hoult and Liam Neeson. However, all the dating rumors turned out to be false.
For now, Stewart is happily dating French singer and songwriter SoKo, whose real name is Stéphanie Sokolinski.
SoKo revealed to W Magazine that she is "very, very, very in love and very happy in a relationship" right now so she does not have the urge to date anyone else but Stewart.
