The long list of A-listers working on Lady Gaga's fifth album, nicknamed "LG5," continues to grow.
During an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, Elton John confirmed he was writing with Gaga for her new pop album.
"I'm writing with Gaga tomorrow," John revealed.
He even opened up about what Little Monsters can expect from the "American Horror Story" actress' upcoming album, by comparing her new music to some of her classics.
"I've heard two songs, which are killer," John explained. "They're just great songs. It's like back to the early stuff of hers - like 'You and I' and the Bruce Springsteen one, as I always call it, 'Bad Romance.'"
According to NME, John went on to compare "LG5" to Carole King's "Tapestry" album. He then said that Gaga's new album would be very different than her last album, 2013's "ARTPOP."
"It was not a good album and I think she would admit that," he said, when discussing Gaga's "ARTPOP." "Then in the midst of that, she did three things, which were kind of amazing. She did the whole tour and album with Tony Bennett, which did amazingly well. She sang the Julie Andrews tribute at the Oscars, which everybody loved. And she was on 'American Horror Story.'"
Gaga and John are sure to create magic together, due to their very close relationship. Gaga is the godmother of John's son, and Gaga previously said that John and "Cheek to Cheek" collaborator Tony Bennett stood by her when no one else did.
"[Bennett] is responsible in so many ways for making me happy, and I can say the same for Elton [John]," Gaga told Billboard. "When the whole industry turned their back on me during 'ARTPOP,' they were the ones who said, 'Hey, this is a blip. It's going to go away.'"
Gaga's fans have been awaiting her new pop music for quite some time. Luckily for them, the Oscar nominee recently confirmed "LG5" would be released in 2016.
"You know, I am putting out an album this year. I won't tell you when!" Gaga told Entertainment Weekly.
Gaga's fifth pop album is expected to be released in 2016.
