"iZombie" creator Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20 lead singer Rob Thomas are soon going to share more than just the same name.
TV Insider has reported that the two gentlemen will be working together on episode 17 of "iZombie" season 2, which will air on April 5.
When Max Rager chairman Vaughn Du Clark (Steven Weber) needs a jingle, he hires Thomas to perform it.
Thomas' song will make its debut on the episode, but he will only appear on screen during the April 12 season finale. There, he will perform one of his songs at the Super Max launch party.
There are a lot of things going on in "iZombie" aside from Vaughn Du Clark's promotional savvy.
Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli) is busy working on the zombie cure that would hopefully save Major Lilywhite (Robert Buckley).
Blaine DeBeers (David Anders) has just turned back into a zombie again so Ravi has to act fast before something happens to Major.
Liv Moore (Rose McIver) is still treading the waters when it comes to her relationship with Drake Holloway (Greg Finley).
Earlier, the show's executive producer Diane Ruggiero-Wright said that Liv is going to encounter one setback after another in season 2.
"There's a lot of tragedy there," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "That will play out over the season. We're not going to jerk you around for a whole season though. There will be answers that will be given but there's a season-long story for her and her family."
Due to the success of "iZombie," CW President Mark Pedowitz revealed during the Television Critics Association winter press tour that there's a very good chance the show will get a third season.
"It's stronger this year," he said of the show, according to TV.com. "I think Malcolm (Goodwin), Rose (McIver), (and) Rahul (Kohli) have done a great job in terms of what they're going for. I think the show has a very good shot at getting a third season. I'm very proud of that show."
