Famke Janssen really wanted to be a part of the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" film and even offered to reprise her role as the old Jean Grey.
However, it appears as if producers were not keen on the idea because they never responded to her suggestion.
"Yes, I have [asked]. I have not heard any feedback on that, other than total radio silence," she told Entertainment Weekly.
As disappointing as the silent treatment was, Janssen is thrilled that her beloved role has been passed on to "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner.
"I'm actually really excited about it [seeing Turner's performance]," she said. "She emailed me before she started filming wanting some pointers. And I said, 'You don't need any. You're perfect. You're great.' So I can't wait to see the movie and what she's done with it."
Janssen noted that it's actually unfair that Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart got to reprise their roles in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" alongside Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy as the younger Magneto and Professor X.
"Although women, it's interesting because they're replaced, and the older versions - or more mature, whatever the politically correct version of that is - are never to be seen again. Whereas the men are allowed to be both ages. Sexism. I think that I should be back along with my younger version and the way that we've seen it with Magneto and Professor X," she said.
Earlier, Turner promised fans that she will deliver something new to the table as Jean Grey.
"The difference between this and Famke's Jean Grey is she's young and isolated and so insecure and very alienated - even from the other mutants - because she's so powerful," she said. "She's a great role to play, she's so much fun, and her arc in the movie is amazing."
"X-Men: Apocalypse," which is directed by Bryan Singer, will make its way to cinemas on May 27.
