Jessica Lange will be working with Ryan Murphy again, but not on a project that fans had hoped for.
The actress, who was part of four seasons of "American Horror Story," will not be part of season 6, but instead star on the upcoming series "Feud."
Lange will star alongside Susan Sarandon on Murphy's third anthology on FX, according to Variety.
The project, as the title suggests, will be centered on battles of different kinds. The first installment will be focused on what happened between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis.

Lange will also be joined by Stanley Tucci, Dominic Burgess, Alfred Molina and Judy David.
Brad Pitt will be part of the show as an executive producer. Sarandon and Lange are also producing, alongside Dede Garner.
Speaking of the project, FX Networks CEO John Landgraf said: "The series will offer a seductive, insightful look at what lies behind legendary personality conflicts."

Fox Television Group Chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden andGary Newman also spoke about the project, saying: "Ryan revolutionized the modern anthology with the 'American Horror Story' and 'American Crime Story' franchises, and he's come up with another gem in 'Feud.' With Jessica and Susan headlining, it's already sure to be as flawlessly acted, wildly entertaining and fiercely provocative. It's a fantastic project which only Ryan Murphy could deliver."
Meanwhile, additional cast members for "American Horror Story" season 6 have not been announced. So far, only Angela Bassett, who will direct an episode in the upcoming season, and Lady Gaga have confirmed their involvement in the project. Many actors from the past seasons have expressed their willingness to return to the show, but no announcement has been made about their involvement.
The season's theme and premiere date have also not been announced.
