"Scream Queens" season 2 has been confirmed, and returning cast members have already been named.
Despite that, however, many fans were still hoping that Diego Boneta, who played Pete on the show, would return. Boneta's character was killed off in the first season, but series co-creator Ryan Murphy is known for reviving characters, so many fans believed there was still hope. Boneta has set the record straight, though, and he will not be returning to the show.
Speaking with Wet Paint, the actor said: "It was honestly such an amazing platform for me and such a great experience that it gave me these movies I'm working on right now. So, unfortunately I won't be going back for the second season because of that."
While Boneta will not be part of the cast, many of the previous season's players will return. Jamie Lee Curtis (Dean Munsch), Emma Roberts (Chanel Oberlin), Lea Michele (Hester), Billie Lourd (Chanel #3), Abigail Breslin (Chanel #5), Niecey Nash (Denise Hemphill) and Glen Powell (Chad Radwell) will reprise their roles.

There has been buzz about One Direction member Harry Styles joining the cast, but the singer has yet to confirm anything. Nick Jonas, who was part of season 1 as Boone, hinted that the singer might be in talks for the project, though.
"I'm not sure but I've heard from a few people in L.A. who've seen him — agents and casting directors — that he's a good actor, which is interesting," Jonas told CelebsNow.
Despite Styles' silence, a source close to him reportedly told E! News that the singer is bent on having an acting career.
"Harry is being offered acting stuff, but he hasn't accepted anything yet," the source said. "He is not openly looking for stuff either but is open to offers."
"Scream Queens" season 2 has not been given an air date.
